Terms of Service

Effective: 3 May 2026 | Last updated: 3 May 2026

1. About these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PaydMate web application ("Service"). By using PaydMate, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Your Account

You must create an account to use PaydMate. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You are solely responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

4. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you input into PaydMate. By using the Service, you grant us permission to store and process your data as necessary to provide the Service. We do not sell your personal financial data to third parties.

When you delete your account, your data is retained in our systems for up to 30 days before permanent deletion, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

5. Free and Premium Tiers

PaydMate offers a free tier with full access to core features. A premium subscription may be offered in the future with additional features. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.

Premium subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Refunds are at our discretion unless required by law.

6. AI Features

Any AI-powered features (such as spending insights or categorisation) are provided "as is". AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete — you should not rely on them as professional financial advice. You retain final responsibility for your budgeting decisions.

7. Third-Party Services

We use Firebase (Google) for authentication and data storage, and may use other third-party services. These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of third-party providers.

8. Availability

We aim to keep PaydMate available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, PaydMate and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid us (if any) in the past 12 months.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PaydMate and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
